adjustment on miter saw

What is the avverage amount of play on a 12 inch miter saw when it is loosened for adjustment? In other words, once loosened, how much play is there allowable for adjustment?

Anyone out there know the answer to this? How much play is there ususally on a miter saw once it is loosened to true it up?

I have a makita 10 inch. The factory fence can only be adjusted a few degrees off 90 from the blade. If you needed more I imagine you could take a file to some the holes to increase play.

thanks a lot Bob. Mine does the same. I just thought I might have gotten a bad one. Mine is pretty much dead on, but I thought it pecular that there was so little play. Their all pretty much the same I gues then...thanks again
