    Newbie - Patriotic Pens

My first post/thread. Keith should be proud.

Here are two pens finished and one still in parts. I thought it might be nice to see the kit before it was put together for anyone interested in doing one. The star is the hardest part of the Texas flag during the assembling process. The trick was soaking it in water before assembly.

The US flag pen didn't come out very well due to my poor clamping of the white strips. After sanding some of the stripe edges disappeared. The stars came out well.

The Texas flag pen used a Baron Sterling Silver kit.
The US flag pen used an Emporer Titanium kit.

    Hope you like em.

I've seen these pens (well the american flag one not the texas one) and they are as awesome in real life as they look here. Now if we can get him to post pics of his bowls !

    Nice work Andy,

Hard work and dedication pays off, your craftsmanship and attention to detail is inspirational.

I hope to join you soon as I am in the process of designing a pen jig for my laser engraver that will allow me to attain the kind of precision registration for these kinds of projects. I have a couple decisions to make before I can make my first jig, I hope to have something to show real soon.

Thanks for posting the pictures, it looks like I'm not the only one who is proud of your hard work.

That must have required a lot of patience, and the work you put in to it definitely paid off. Very beautiful. I'd be afraid to use it, I'd probably mess it up. Hope you'll share some more pics as you make more!

Oh, and....I'm about two months late in saying it, but Welcome to SMC!!!
