    curved stairs done

finally getting around to posting pics of stairs i finished awhile back. i originally posted for input with the project months ago and want to say thank you to all who gave advice. routing the trim skirts was a bear, just getting them laid out was hair pulling...curved wall was not in the best of shape, but well worth the effort for the finished product. so heres my stairs....

    balusters

Looks nice. A couple more questions though.

Why is there a 3/4" offset in the landing apron and the exposed skirt at the last rise?
what were your horses made of? Plywood or 2x's?
Are your center balusters one-pice or three?

Nice work. The wood and wrought iron combo is becoming very popular.

Looking at the thumbnails I was very concerned about the pink runner on the beautiful wood stair treads. Opening up the pictures I can't tell you how releived I was to see that it is just paper and masking tape! (we replaced a few hundred square feet of carpet that was almost that exact same color.)

As for the stairs...They look great and the rail really jacks up the wow factor.

    Thanks for sharing.
