Thread: Walnut HF

  1. #1

    Walnut HF

Mark Cothren gave me this nice big chunk of Walnut in April (Thanks again Mark ).

I finished turning it this weekend. A little slipup while finishing inside the opening forced me to open it up a bit more and turn a separate Walnut collar for it that I dyed black . Buffed Antique oil finish,
    10" diameter by 10" tall.

Beatiful piece Travis! What type of dye did you use on the collar?

Some great character in that one, Travis! Awesome as always!

(If you have any scraps of that blank left, you might try a piece or two that features that sapwood at the top...the ice-cream cone effect!)
