Saturday morning, I'll be checking out an estate auction just down the road. A couple chain saws and a bunch of Cherry in the ad. We'll see what it all looks like first. Then, it's get daughter's study area finished up and hang some new closet doors for her room. Hopefully, can fit some shop time in there, as I really need to throw something together for lathe tools near the Vega. Sunday, expecting a visit from a fellow bullsh....errrrrr....SMC-er. Might start ripping and cutting stiles and rails for the bathroom cabinet project. If, by the end of the evening, I'm not too pooped, Sunday night is shop-cleaning night! Have a great weekend, all, especially you, Dennis! Enjoy it!
Cheers,

Well it looks to be a busy weekend for me. First off I need to finish some scrollwork, pics coming soon. Then I need to work on a few mantle clocks that have been neglected for about a month. Then if I have any free time I need to hunt down the right 220v plug for my dust collector and maybe pipe it up. I'll be busy for sure.

Saying goodbye to my Powermatic 66. It will be missed but in a couple of weeks a new Minimax CU350 will arrive. Then after that I get to rebuild the power washer and put the snowblower away for the summer.

I am going to attempt making an extention table and outfeed table for my new G1023SL. I scored a new 42x80 solid core door for $35 yesterday. one edge had some milling mistake so I ripped it down to 40". I should be able to add laminate to it and have one great outfeed table. I am thinking of just attaching it directly to the back rail and then just having 2 legs secured to the floor on the back of the table. Sounds pretty solid to me. What do you think?

I used folding legs with leveling feet, guick disconnect hooks for the saw end.(from Rockler, no affiliation). Added another set of folding legs so I could operate independantly if I wanted to. I've put it to task using the table separately a couple of times in the year I've had it. I don't have the Garagemahal you have (nobody does) and need to multi task. Something to consider. Whole thing folds up and stands in the lumver rack.Storage is not your issue but just having the flex to move around a little may help.
Party down Dude. it's going to be great.

Working on LOML sewing room. Got the fluorescent lights and fan up. Ceiling painted, she has most of the old wall paper down. She is going to paint the walls using a "Woollie" technique. Then I have to go back and paint all the trim.
Sunday I will be doing more yard work. She wants a bunch of roses moved!

Dennis...I'm seriously jealous!!! Enjoy your time, you have earned it. You gonna come and visit us while you are off????
My weekend project has kicked my butt. Man, this manual labor is no good!!!!
I started recycling an old redwood deck last weekend that we tore out at my Mom's house a few years back. I'm making planter boxes for my veggie garden. Here's how this crap looks before the recycling starts. These are all redwood 2X6's 12' long. If I'm real lucky I can get 2 - 4' boards out of each. Some only one. I told my Mom I must have wanted free wood pretty dang bad to do all this, 'course, it is redwood.

I'm fed up with the weeds and grass taking over the garden every Summer and hopefully this will help. I can concentrate on the beds themselves instead of all the in-betweens. I am covering the paths with 6 mil plastic and I will cover that with gravel or mulch. I haven't decided yet. I'm gonna leave just the plastic for a while and hopefully I can fry some of the grass and weeds!!!
Here is where I'm at right now. 7 1/2 boxes done and installed. MANY more to go. This is about 1/3 of the garden space. I'll have 4 - 2' X 24' row boxes, 4 more 4' X 4' boxes and a 2 stage composting bin when I'm done...hopefully. Geezzz, I certainly hope this is all worth it.

Love that recycling. "save a a tree". You know Terry you could expand your shop into that space there. Can never have too much shop space!! On second thought leave it for veggies. The fresh air and homegrowns are good for you.

Dennis, You came up for air! You need to get a little sunlight too Bud. Don't spend the the whole time off in the shop. (died and gone to hevan) You need to pace yourself. Too much of a good thing (even shop time) can be rough on the system.Originally Posted by Dennis Peacock

Reporting in on progress against objectives.
First of all, I am happy to say that the weather forecast for Saturday was wrong. The rain held off until late afternoon and the temperature got up to 9 degrees (which, I think, is just under 50 Fahrenheit). I worked hard from about 6:30 in the morning until about 4:30 in the afternoon and disassembled the portion of the deck that it is necessary to remove to provide room for the new workshop. That's good because it has been below freezing and very windy all day today. I will post a picture to my Workshop Construction thread.
When I said that I would finish the painting the boxes to hold my Festool guide rails, I forgot that I am using oil based exterior paint -and that takes a long time to dry. I expect to be finished tomorrow and will start a new thread with some pictures. In the meantime, here are a couple of photos of work-in-progress.
