    Bed casters? Do they work?

Has anyone successfully put casters under a “Captain’s bed” that were usable enough to be able to move the bed around on carpet.
I’m thinking about designing a bed with a storage unit under it, but the bed must be against the wall except for when it will be pulled away to “make the bed” in the mornings. I’m wondering if the bed casters are good enough to support the bed, the additional weight of the stuff in the drawers, and still be able to roll on carpet.
It's a biiiig mistake to allow any mechanical object to realize that you are in a hurry.

The issue, as you've guessed, is that the casters sink into the carpet-plus-pad. A bed with storage is heavy, and sinks in very firmly.

You might consider just "making the bed" without moving it. Consider horizontal Murphy beds. These are beds hinged to the wall along a long edge. You tuck in the bedding on the wall side while kneeling on it. It is a slight hassle, but it does work.
