I want to build a gun cabinet but looking for examples here has proven impossible. (The word cabinet turns up nearly every post on the site.) Anyone have examples?

Here is mine.
I used 3/16 plate I replaced on my fab table at work. 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 1/8 angle frame. 5" barrel hinges and 6- 5/8 stainless steel 304 solid bolts that work off of 3 independent shrouded locks. Door is constructed out of 1x3 14 gauge steel tube covered with more 3/16 plate. The door lifts off making moving it a bit less of a chore.
Wood magazine recently had an article on a display cabinet that could also be a gun cabinet. Are you looking for a no kids in the house display type gun cabinet or a gun safe?
This is a gun cabinet I built for myself last year. I found one online that I liked and tweaked the measurements a bit. It will hold 12 long arms in the top and there is also a pistol shelf where it angles out and then two drawers on the bottom. I did not have the felt on the pistol shelf when this picture was taken.
I built another one before this one for by brother in law and it is slightly smaller with glass doors on the top. It looks good but I like the raised panel look better and it also offers some "privacy" for what is inside the cabinet.
HOpe this helps. I think I still have the measurements wrote down somewhere if you are interested.
Thanks for the links.
Kent- That safe is nice, but would be cheaper to buy than purchase the steel to make it! Lucky you had it.
I went to the store to look at the Wood magazine cabinet. It looks easy enough but I do need a closed cabinet. I could substitute raised panels instead of glass.
James- measurements or plans would be cool.
