Dewalt variable speed drill not variable

Guys, I left my cordless drill in the rain, now the variable speed feature doesn't work, any do-it-yourself fix to this?

Open it up and try drying it with a hairdryer. It worked for my cell phone.

Yeah, blow it out and get it dry. If it still fails a new switch/circuit should be reasonable enough to make it worth your effort.
