Has anyone used this doweling jig?

I'm considering purchasing this doweling jig.

Has anyone used it? I'm doing a project that requires drilling two dowels in fairly close proximity to each other (vertical slats on a mission style bed), and this one will allow 3/4"oc spacing.

The self-centering feature is a must for me, as the pieces I'm doweling together are not the same thickness but the holes need to be centered.

Any opinions, recommendations, warnings, or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ideally, I'd buy a Festool domino, but I'd have to sell a kidney to pay for it.

I purchased a jig like that from Harbor Freight, it works well. Make sure you get good drill bits and the depth stop collars, it will make things easier.

Perhaps look into an old Stanley #59 off of eBay. I got mine for $30, it is a really neat machine and the adage holes true, they don't make them like they used to...
